Jessi Morgan Devotions for the Christian Heart Podcast
Jessi Morgan in 2023 had a traumatic experience that shaped how she views life and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God has laid it on her heart to share her experiences and inspire others to put God first in every aspect of their life like she finally did in hers. Having her daughter born 4 months early really made Jessi lean on the Lord for comfort and guidance. And today she stands here starting her own 10-15 minute podcast focusing on weekly devotionals about what God can do for you and what He's done for her.

Plan for the Victory, Already!
Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement…
Have you ever skimmed past biblical chapters filled with names and land divisions to get to the "good parts"? That's exactly what I used to do with Joshua 12 and 13—until one verse stopped me in my tracks and completely transformed how I understand faith.
God tells Joshua something remarkable: "Allocate this land as an inheritance even though it's still occupied. I myself will drive out the enemies." Wait—plan the victory celebration before the battle is won? Divide the land while enemies still live there? This isn't just ancient history; it's a spiritual blueprint for our lives today.
Through this powerful scripture and my personal wedding disaster story—where my mom calmly planned seating charts while we faced a $10,000 budget shortfall with just days to go—we discover what faith really looks like in action. It means stepping forward when our human logic says "wait."
Ready to stop waiting for evidence before believing? Listen now to discover how faith means projecting the blessing before it arrives.

Hello, hello. You're listening to the Jesse Morgan Devotions for the Christian Heart Podcast, episode 46. This week's devotional is titled Plan for the Victory Already Joshua 12 and 13. Let's go. Hi. I'm Jesse Morgan. I used to just share home decor and renovation tips on social media, but now I'm sharing something even closer to my heart my journey and love for Jesus Christ, my Savior. Welcome to the Jesse Morgan Devotions for the Christian Hot Podcast.
Speaker 1:This is a weekly devotional. I started back in May 2024, but the inspiration for it came much earlier. It was rooted in a faith journey that began when my daughter was born, four months early in 2023. Through that challenging time, god worked in ways that truly amazed me. On this podcast, I share personal stories of faith, woven together with scripture to show just how incredible God's word can be in our everyday lives. My hope is that through these stories, you'll be encouraged, uplifted and reminded of God's love and presence, no matter what you're going through. So I invite you to spend less than 15 minutes with me each week as we reflect on these devotionals together. Let's all pray within Plan for the victory already, episode 46, key passages Joshua 12 and Joshua 13. Hey, everyone, welcome back to the podcast. I'm so happy to have you here.
Speaker 1:So let's dive into Joshua 12 and 13. These are the kind of chapters that, if you're, if I'm being honest, if we're really being honest, sometimes I feel like they're just listing facts with no real storytelling. And if you're like me, when I was younger, I'd skim over these kinds of sections in the Bible to get to the good stuff the stories of Moses, of course, joshua, joseph, david, you name it. But this week something unexpected happened. These chapters actually blessed me in a way I didn't see coming. You see, joshua 12 gives us a breakdown of Moses conquering land on the east side of the Jordan, while Joshua takes on the west. Then in Joshua 13, it's basically discussing land assignment who gets what, where and how within the promised land. On the surface, it might seem like a lot of just details and overall facts, but then there was this one verse that stood out to me. But before I read it, joshua 13.1 sets up Joshua 13.6. That blew me away, in my opinion. So let's check it out.
Speaker 1:Let's read Joshua 13.1 says when Joshua had grown old, the Lord said to him you are now very old and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over. So now let's go to Joshua 13, 6, where it says as for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Meshach Maim that is, all of the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you. Did you catch that? Especially that last part, where it says I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for inheritance, as I have instructed you. Did you catch that? God is telling Joshua there's still land that needs to be conquered, but to go ahead and divide it up anyway. He's saying the land is still occupied, but claim it now. I will drive them out myself, like God is going to drive him out himself. Whoa, that hit me. God was telling them, or telling, to plan ahead for victory, to take ownership of what was already theirs, even before they could see it. And that got me thinking. How often do we hesitate to move forward because we can't see how God is going to work it all out? Faith means projecting the blessing before it arrives. Faith means projecting the blessing before it arrives. It means preparing for the victory even when it's not in our own hands yet, and sometimes it means making the seating chart for a wedding you're not sure you can afford.
Speaker 1:Let me explain. When my husband and I were planning our wedding, I really wanted to have it in Orlando, florida, not Miami. Miami would have been too big, too expensive, and I had this dream of being on Disney property for the festivities. So we booked the venue, set the budget and planned for 70 guests, but then my mom suggested inviting more people, just so they feel included, even if they couldn't make it. So I sent out 180 invitations, thinking we still land somewhere near 70. Well, 135 people RSVP'd. Yeah, that was 65 more people than we had budgeted for, and that meant we were suddenly over budget by like $10,000. And the bill the week of the wedding the bill the week of the wedding was due. So we had basically like three weeks out to come up with this, because that's when we had like finalized the guest list. I was stressed I didn't have the money, my family didn't have that money.
Speaker 1:I remember sitting in my bedroom at home feeling completely defeated, but my mom she was cool, as ever. She looked at me and she said don't worry, god will take care of it. Now let's talk about place settings and the seating chart. I thought she had lost her mind. How could she be planning for something we couldn't afford? But she just kept saying Jess, no worries, it'll work itself out, god will take care of it. And you know what? The Monday before our wedding, just days before we had to leave for Orlando, some close friends stepped in. They had heard about the wedding and, without us even asking, they lent my parents the money to cover the overage. I was floored. I fell to my knees in my bedroom and I just cried. My parents never doubted, my mom never wavered, and looking back, I see it so clearly now. She was already planning for the victory, just like Joshua was dividing the land before the battle was even won. That's faith, guys. It's faith. That's what God was teaching us and that's what God was teaching Joshua too.
Speaker 1:You don't wait until the victory to prepare. You prepare because you know the victory is coming. Even when you can't see it, even when it looks impossible, even when there are still obstacles in the way, god is already making a way. Israel has been fighting battle after battle, at this point seeing God's deliverance in real time. But this time God was telling them. You don't even have to fight first, just claim it it's yours. So let me ask you what are you waiting to see before you believe? Are you holding back from stepping into something because the obstacle seems too big? Are you hesitating to move forward because you don't have all the answers? God is saying go ahead, take the next step, plan for the victory, because he's already fighting for you. So this week, let's step forward in faith. Let's prepare, not out of fear but an expectation, because the same God who went before Joshua is the same God who goes before us. Who went before Joshua is the same God who goes before us, and that that's a promise we can stand on.
Speaker 1:Look at 1 Corinthians, 15, 57. It says but thanks be to God, he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. And let's look at Deuteronomy 24. For the Lord, your God, is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory. Amen, let's pray. Heavenly Father, I thank you for this incredible study of Joshua 12 and 13. Lord, thank you for already giving us the victory. Thank you for going before us and securing the win. We only need to put our faith in you. I pray that everyone is listening. Everyone that's listening is inspired and blessed by this message. Father, we love you, we trust you and we praise you in Jesus name, amen.

Speaker 1:So, yeah, kind of wanted to break down a little bit of the wedding drama that I went through. I know these past couple of weeks I've been sharing a little bit about the wedding situation. So, yeah, just imagine, you know I went through the situation with the bridesmaid that was my first event coordinator and she, you know, used up my credit card and drove it up to 14,000. So I was dealing with that at the time. Dealing with that at the time and then finding out that I have 65 additional guests, like it was just I was just really stressed and um, but my mom was just the constant there and she was. She really guys, seriously, she was like, okay, so yeah, I got my dress, you got yours, we, we're gonna go pick it up. And then grandma said she'll hem the girls, the bridesmaids, dresses if they need to, and like she was just planning.
Speaker 1:If people don't know, you know people that know my mom, she was an event planner, so she thinks of everything. But she literally was like, okay, you do this and you do that, and when's Lorna coming in, and when's Adrian? I know she's flying from England. You know, like all my bridesmaids, like she just was. So she was planning everything and she just was on it and she was just in a great mood and I'm sitting there looking at her like we're like 10 days out and we don't have this money and I'm like what is going on? You know, and I just sometimes you as a you know, as a believer, you need to have companionship, you need to have people in your corner that are going to help you, hold you accountable to your faith and kind of be there standing in that gap for you when maybe you're wavering a bit. And my mom was definitely that at that point in time, my dad was too.
Speaker 1:So yeah, it was pretty crazy, but it was so. It was so neat because the place that we had the wedding was at Wyndham um Bonnet Creek and it was beautiful hotel and resort and they were so nice, like even the accounting people were nice, like to, you know, to expect payment, and they said to us in the end they said you guys were so easy to work with and like you paid on time and there's so many people that don't pay on time and we have to be the bad guys and it's so uncomfortable. So thank you so much for just being so on it with us and just so you know understanding, and I was sitting there like. You have no idea how stressed I was about this bill, you know. So in the end, I'm just so thankful for my mom and I'm so thankful that everything you know went as planned and the good thing about it was, in the end, we had a beautiful wedding, we had beautiful moments, I married my best friend and I'm just excited that I was able to share this.
Speaker 1:And hopefully, if you are going through something where you're just like where is this gonna end, like you know what's going on, this isn't like just have the faith that God has already won the victory and start planning for the success, start planning for the good that's coming out of it. And when you do that, your mindset changes and I wish that I did that my last three weeks before I got married. But now in my life now I'm trying to continue to plan and to think that way and I think that's such a hard thing to do and I think as you grow older in your faith it will be easier, but it's still going to be very challenging because we all know satan's out there trying to make you question everything. So that's all for today, behind the scenes. Love you guys. God bless, till next time.
